Captain Curtis Humphreys helped the University of Trinidad and Tobago's 'A' team defeat their 'B' side 3-2 as play in the Petrotrin Table Tennis League served off on Monday afternoon at the Central Regional Indoor Sport Arena in Chaguanas.

Humphreys won both of his matches as the third place team from last year got the better of newcomers UTT 'B' which moved up to division one after winning division two last year in the first round-robin encounter. The skipper who opened, defeated Yuvraaj Dookram three sets to one, before winning the deciding match over Everton Sorzano in three sets, to clinch the win.

Kris Frank who loss his opening match to Sorzano three sets to one, rebounded to inflict a similar margin of defeat on Dookram. 'B' team's captain Kyle Borneo claimed the other win for his team getting the better of Alaric Humphreys three sets to two. The action continues today at the same venue with UTT 'B' side taking on Gladiators from 6 pm.
