UTT STUDENT CLUBS AND ORGANIZATIONS

  1. John Donaldson Swimming Club – President: Nigel Gould
  2. To provide students with the opportunity to learn or improve swimming skills, and to provide a form of exercise or recreational activity throughout the trimester.

  3. Media Hut @ JSDTI Campus – President: Adesh Ramsingh
  4. To bridge the gap between growing interest in the media industry and the means of acquiring experience and knowledge; allowing ‘student expression’ or rather forums or mediums for student expression.

  5. Corinth Christian Fellowship – President: Michael Dion Williams
  6. To be a fellowship of students who follow Jesus as Saviour and Lord; growing in love for God, God’s Word, God’s people of every ethnicity and culture, and God’s purposes in the world through spiritual, intellectual, physical and social pursuits.

  7. Corinth Islamic Society – President: Lue Ann Carrington
  8. To cater for the needs of the Muslim, and by extension, the population of Corinth and The University of Trinidad and Tobago by providing religious, social and cultural events appropriate to Islamic life.

  9. Corinth Hindu Society @ Corinth Campus – President: Haimraj Ramkissoon
  10. To provide and present opportunities, avenues and resources that promote, develop and enhance the awareness and significance of Hinduism and Hindu customs and culture in a manner that will foster unity and harmony among all groups and individuals in this campus and other campuses of The University of Trinidad and Tobago, and by extension, the national and global communities. The Motto of The Hindu Society is “With Devotion – Bhakti, Through Education – Gyaan, By Action – Karma.”

  11. Tennis Playerz Tennis Club – President: Captain Atiba Phillip
  12. To promote and encourage the sport of tennis at the University, and to compete in tournaments so as to uplift the name of The University of Trinidad and Tobago, yet in another aspect of sports.

  13. Students As Part of The Solution (SPOTS) @ Point Lisas Campus – Chairperson: Anita Sidial
  14. To allow students to interact and thereby create a positive influence on the people of Trinidad and Tobago, with emphasis on its younger citizens. Initially, this will be achieved by providing assistance to existing children’s homes which care for orphaned and abandoned children.

  15. UTT Trekkers Hiking Club @ Corinth Campus – President: Paulson Skerrit
  16. To encourage hiking, camping, backpacking, and other social events; to protect flora and fauna, and the natural features of the country; to procure practical support to the Physical Education Training programme and other similar training to teachers who may include hiking as part of their curricula or extra curricula programme; to act in co–operation with the city council and government, or any other club committee, society or institution, for the promotion of the above objectives.

  17. Happy Feet Dance Club @ Corinth Campus – President: Jerrana Douglas
  18. To expose students to the knowledge and art of Ballroom and Latin Ballroom dancing; fostering collaborative experiences through compatible dancing.

  19. The Events Club @ Corinth Campus – President: Trevlyn Martinez
  20. To promote social events to enhance the life of the University on the campus; to give practical help to other clubs; give moral and emotional support to students and members; to provide a meeting place for members to collaborate agendas/ideas of social events.

  21. Exceptionalities Foundation @ Corinth Campus – President: Paulson Skerrit
  22. To identify various exceptionalities that teachers may encounter in the inclusive classroom or in another setting along the continuum of delivery of special education services and provide advice and support to the University for students on its campuses who are exceptional learners.

  23. JSDTI’s ‘Slayers’ Basketball Club (SLAYERS) –President: Kestler Modeste
  24. The purpose of this club is to implement basketball as one of The University of Trinidad and Tobago’s many sporting activities so as to promote teamwork and physical fitness, thus serving to elevate the standard of graduating professionals.

  25. Campus Crusade For Christ @ Corinth CampusPresident: Christal Bhola
  26. To help fulfill the great commission given by Jesus Christ i.e. to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nation...”

  27. Physical Education Professionals Association (UTT PEPA) @ Scott Street CampusPresident: Jason O’Connor
  28. To promote an appreciation of commitment to, involvement in and responsibility to the fields of health and physical education, recreation and dance through active involvement by means of workshops, community service.

  29. The Society Of Petroleum Engineers The University Of Trinidad And Tobago Student Chapter (SPE UTT SC) @ Point Lisas CampusPresident: Brenton Davy
  30. The Student Chapter works continuously to ensure that our student members are up to date with technological advancements but also taking the time to ensure that the fundamental principles related to petroleum engineering are not overlooked.

  31. Knights Of The Chess Club @ Corinth Campus – President: Randy Lall
  32. To encourage the skill of playing chess in every individual.

  33. Table Tennis Club at UTT (SLAMMERS) @ Point Lisas Campus – President: Dane Daniel
  34. To help make all rounded students and to improve the popularity and skill of table tennis while fostering interaction between young people.

    SFTI Innovative Minds Society – President: Marsha Neema Watson

    To provide interested students of the University with a medium of developing and expressing their creative skills that may one day benefit mankind, to enable students the opportunity to become part of a dynamic extra–curricular society and to promote a sense of community among students at the University.

  35. SFTI Performing Arts Society – President: Mark Warner
  36. To provide interested students of the University with a medium for expressing their creativity in performing arts, to afford eligible students the opportunity to become part of a dynamic extra curricular society and to promote a sense of community among students at the University.

  37. Musical Arts Appreciation Group (M.A.A.G.) @ Point Lisas Campus – President: Tsarrio Millard
  38. To provide a forum for artists, musicians, poets and any other performing artists for the purpose of exposure of the talent within the University and outside the University community for the benefit of the performers and the community overall.

  39. Corinth Aerobics Club – President: Michelle Brown
  40. To provide support, development, improvement and promotion of health, fitness and quality of life of the members of Corinth Aerobics Club.

  41. The Social Events Club at UTT @ JSDTI Campus – President: Joffre Allong
  42. To provide significant opportunities for socialization amongst all students, staff members and visitors, at The University of Trinidad and Tobago, John Donaldson Campus.

  43. The Spanish Club @ Corinth Campus – President: Jinja Rabathaly
  44. To enrich our student body, faculty and staff with the Spanish language as well as the culture of the countries in which Spanish is the principal language through a variety of social activities, both formal and informal.

  45. The SFTI Spanish Club – President: Nalini Danee
  46. To practice the Spanish language, learn and experience the cultures of the Spanish speaking world and promote critical thinking.

  48. To provide an opportunity for The University of Trinidad and Tobago’s students and staff to learn about Hinduism as a way of life and to exercise Hindu Dharma in an effort to promote student unity, campus tranquility and student development.

To offer a friendly and supportive environment with quality teaching and coaching, enabling to achieve their potential through learning to develop their thinking skills and expand his/her vocabulary at all levels. Our organization also aims to provide students with a form of recreational activity throughout each semester.

  54. To promote and encourage student participation, to provide recreation to the members and promote and afford opportunity for friendly and social activities.

  55. Valsayn Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship – President: Shomari Ajani Hector
  56. To build bridges of friendship and fellowship within Christian circles while we are being developed spiritually and physically.

  57. Be Edified Club President: Adeola Reid
  58. To act as an outreach organization designed to add sophistication to its members by appealing to moral, social intellectual and spiritual needs.

  60. To build camaraderie, team spirit, football awareness and development and showcase campus as No#1 at all events and activities in which the club participates.

  62. To promote an appreciation of involvement in football through active involvement.

  63. The O’Meara Spanish Club – President: Lee-Ann Cummings
  64. To practice the Spanish language, learn and experience the cultures of the Spanish speaking world, expose its members to different models of thinking and promote critical thinking.

  65. O’Meara Student Social Events Club (O.S.S.E.C) – President: Lee-Ann Cummings
    To produce fun and interactive events for students that will encourage critical thinking and team work outside of the classroom.

  66. Valsayn Lions Netball Club – President: Judy Strake
    To ensure that netball skills and techniques are taught and maintained at the highest standard to ensure this knowledge is passed on to our nations’ youth.

  67. JSDTI Hockey Club at UTT –President: Kayode De Peza
    To implement Hockey as one of UTT’s many sporting activities so as to promote teamwork and physical fitness, thus serving to elevate the standard of graduating professionals.

  68. Valsyan Cricket Club – President: Stacyann Shears
    The development of students’ all round ability through social skills, communication skills, fine and gross motor skills; and their mental and spiritual well being, rather than focusing solely on academics.

  69. Hindu Society Valsayn Campus – President: Ravi Rampersad
    To promote spiritual and moral growth as well as provide students with the knowledge about the Hindu culture.

  70. Valsayn Campus Islamic Society – President: Javed Kareem Mohammed
    To build the foundations for a strong and vibrant Islamic community by creating a student oriented pro-active agenda.
  71. Inter Christian Organization @ ECIAF – President: Anastasia Stephen
    To strengthen the spiritual lives of students and to encourage more positive activities and behavior at ECIAF.
