UTT debaters, winners of the South Trinidad Chamber of Industry and Commerce (STCIC) Energy Debate against UWI on Monday 25 January 2010 at the Hyatt Regency Trinidad, were congratulated for their achievement by UTT’s Provost Professor Michael Gray. The debate team consisted of Nehrisa Ramdass, and Sherelle Smith, final year B.Sc. Petroleum Engineering students and Ariana Emanuel, a final year B.Sc. Process & Utilities student.
Special congratulations were extended to Mr. Neal Alleyne and other members of staff and the student body who assisted the team in its preparation. This is second consecutive year that UTT has won this debate against UWI, as the 2009 team of Brenton Davy, Randall Ballack and Patrice Joseph, all final year B.Sc. Petroleum Engineering students, also topped their opponents in the debate.
In response to this year’s win, an exuberant Alleyne stated, "We have formidable opponents in UWI and they will do everything to ensure that continuing our success in 2011 will not be easy, but we will be up to the challenge!"
